The Republic Act No. 10743 and UNESCO have designated October 5 of every year as National Teachers’ Day (NTD) and World Teachers’ Day (WTD) , a day to honor teachers and the central role they play in guiding children, youth and adults through the life-long learning process. In the Philippines, we have made it a month-long celebration by observing National Teachers’ Month (NTM) which starts on September 5 and ends on October 5. Schools, companies, government agencies, local government units, private groups and individuals have been participating in the NTM through various ways of honoring teachers. This year’s theme is “Gurong Filipino para sa Batang Filipino.”
